..

I didn't know what to to title this post..anyways Sunday was quite the interesting day. I accidentally missed church because of sleeping..I know pathedic, but! for the past 3 nights I have slept all the way through the night. I consider it a huge blessing and am just very happy and Sunday I just think my body needed to catch up on so much lost sleep.

We took time to go visit one of our dear friends who was in the hospital. He has had some major trials of health problems in life and its frustrating because he is very healthy. He just seemed to get the short stick in life for odd health problems. He has to stay in the hospital a week and with not even being really sick, just having to get his body checked each morning and if he was good to go then he can go but if not he has to stay and just wait. He also can't eat, So he is starving and bored, I just can't even imagine having to go through that.

Then after that I found out some very sad news of some incredibly awesome friends of ours that had seperated. My heart just drop and it was just a shock. The day just seemed to end on a depressing note but then I was grateful that I could turn to my heavenly father in prayer for comfort and to ask to bless these people who are going through these struggles. I again am incredibly grateful for Pauls and mine's blessings. Don't get me wrong we have had our struggles, but I am grateful that there is our heavenly father to turn too.

:-)

Last night Paul surprised me with these beautiful flowers. I guess there is a flower place where you can pick out the vase and the flowers and make your own arrangement. I really loved it, and even more the thought that he took the time to create something.
We had a nice date night going to Marie Callenders for soup and salad bar. I love their warm cornbread and potato cheese soup on a rainy night. We then went and saw Sherlock Holmes which was a cool flick!

I heart May.

So we all know how awesome our government is right? I mailed my passport out to have the name changed to my married name. I receive a letter from the passport center that says "we cannot continue the process of your passport because we need to receive a certified copy of your marriage license, certified copies are not acceptable".. yes you read that right. I was completely confused so I called them, they went on to tell me they need a certified copy so I explain to them that is exaclty what I sent. She goes on to say what they actually need is my original marriage license!! Really.. you think I am going to mail my original copy to you? Um what if it gets lost? Oh well you can pay to get a new one she says. So I call my mom and she says she will go to the courthouse in Salt Lake to see about getting a duplicate copy of the original even though that is what I mailed. Then about 4 days letter the passport place calls me saying to disregard the letter they sent me, it was an error and my passport is being mailed out, sorry for any inconvenience. Again just saying we have an awesome government.

Now for the exciting part...Passport- check!

All inclusive Cancun vacation in May to celebrate 2nd year anniversary-check!
Excitement-check, check!!
We got this really awesome all inclusive deal through my work so we decided to take advantage of it. May is going to be such an awesome month, I am going to Cancun and then flying home to Utah for a cousin's wedding and to see all the people I miss! I am so excited!

Tee hee hee

So yesterday was just a funny day, first off Paul asked me how my sleep was..but the way he asked it seemed weird. I told him it was pretty good and questioned him about his, he went to say it was not so great because all the night long I was just blabbing on about who knows what! Ha, this made me laugh, just picturing myself rambling on in my sleep. He said that I just kept going on and wouldn't stop..haha poor kid.

Second, and I have to share this just because well...it was funny. I was at the store looking for pistachios and I couldn't find them so then I spotted a male store worker on the next aisle over. I whipped around the corner to the next aisle and without even thinking sort of blurted out "Sir where are your nuts?" haha oh man he didn't need to say anything, the look on his face and thought of him trying to keep it together was priceless. Then when he proceeds to tell me where to go and I could tell him voice was kind of squealing as if he was really trying hard to not be embarrassed and laugh. Yay me! and then after I was walking around the store laughing to myself outloud, I just couldn' stop and people probably though I was crazy.

Are you buggin?

So Paul surprised me with a way early birthday present and here is the breakdown. Have you heard of the bodybugg by 24 hour fitness? Coolest thing ever, its the device pictured above that you wear on your arm/tricep. It is %90 accurate and tracks how many calories you burn a day. You then plug it into your computer and it has a program that provides certain meal plans or you enter your own of what you ate for the day and it shows you how many calories you burned for the day so you know if you are burning more than you ate. It also shows you how many grams of carbs, protein, and fat you take in to make sure you are getting the proper amount. I was soooooo excited! My best friend Dana works for 24 fitness and since they were running a special on it (that only went to the end of this month) and with her discount we got a great deal so Paul got it for me. Now you might wonder why I would want it? but after awhile of losing a certain amount of weight its hard to get that last part off and this really helps you to track and make sure you are doing it correctly. I want to lose a few more in preporation for our trip to Cancun in a few months.

I found this outfit and absolutely LOVE IT!!!! maybe this will be my reward if I reach my goal?!? :-)

crazy Monday.

Yesterday was a bit of a busy day!

9:00 acupuncture-seriously this stuff is amazing..love it! I think this is my last time going.
10:30 Dentist-ouch...but glad I wont have to go again for hopefully a long time (other than cleanings)
12:30 Sleep study--oh yes I am currently doing a sleep study and getting paid $500 to do it! so now I can make some wonderful extra cash! :-) Its really easy too I go into their office once a week for like 45 min.
2:00 met with Jen (real estate) who is helping us starting the whole house hunting process.

It sure made the day fly by...way to spend a day off I guess.!

Good weekend.

So last Sat. was a really great day, I came home and Paul had made me a yummy dinner. Then I was going through my mail and I had received a card. While I was in Utah during Christmas I had helped some friends get a really smokin deal on a Marriott room. Well in turn they were son incredibly kind and generous and sent me a Nordstroms gift card..again I say that they were very generous. I couldn't believe it, even just to receive a card of thanks to me is really nice. Its good to let people know they appreciate you (even if you think they know it). So off to Nordstrom's Paul and I went...now what would I buy at Nordstrom's?

Don't get mad but I was really needing some new running shoes..and not just any running shoes but the Nike+ shoes. They are shoes made to go with the Nike sport kit picture below. It has a special slot under the sole of the shoe that you put the nike sensor in. Then there is also a peice you plug into your Ipod so that while your running the sensor is giving information to the peice you plugged into your Ipod and then you can figure out the distance your going, how many calories your burning, mileage. its really neat and I love it...Its exactly what I would have wanted to get. Don't worry though I did also get a cute pair of jeans.

Now I just need to get this nike sport kit..but it is only like $30 so that shouldnt't be too bad. Maybe for the birthday!

Why is the ocean so friendly?

Because it waves!!!......ba da boom! complimentry of my Paul!

So the storms here this week has been crazy and awesome. Tornado warnings, water spouts and floods. There has been a ton of damage to trees being blown down and power outages. The rain has been so nice to watch and we have needed it desperately. Our back yard was basaically a slip and slide, when you walked onto the grass your bottom foot was covered with water.

The picture below is the view of La Jolla cove. You can see the walk way that you can go out on and view the seals etc. Last night Paul and I went down to the beach probably around 8(ish) to watch the huge waves (then the cheesy joke came). The waves were 10-12 feet and were breaking out in the ocean way before they normally do. It was really neat to see, anyways so that little walk way last night was closed. We soon knew why while watching the waves that were crashing up and over the wall, which is a ton of water. Its really kind of scary to comprehend how much damage water can do. But its also been fun to have a nice storm!

I love the mud.

So I love doing triathlons but recently I have fallen in love with doing mud events..like that recent muddy buddy race I did. Well I just signed up for another one, its the camp pendleton mud run. All running no biking! Its a 6.2 mile run all through mud with obstacles along the way and you get to run through camp pendleton base so thats kind of cool. I seem to get a thrill out of running through mud and being challenged! yay I am so excited.

I also want to do this run...but I want to have someone do it with me! Its the Disneyland half marathon. You get to run through Disneyland and you even get a cool finishers medal! I think I am going to do it anyways but any takers? Its not till September!

Something that has been making my training awesome..well I do enjoy being active, it really does make me happy and I just find it fun. However on the days when I might be a little bleh..I have chocolate mint gu to chipper me right up. This Gu is so yummy! I sometimes eat it even though I am not working out (hehe) It tastes like chocolate mint pudding. My really awesome friend Caroline in Utah got me some more for Christmas because she knows how much I love it and they only sell it during Christmas time. I have to be careful and ration it out...this is a hard thing to do!

Have an attitude of gratitude.

So lately I just keep focusing on how grateful I am that both Paul and I have good, and stable (for the most part ya never know) jobs. Paul that he has a job that he LOVES, and me, just grateful to have a job that has provided such wonderful opportunities of travel and growth in my knowledge of certain tasks. Most importantly I am grateful that I am still employed, as the hotel part has not done well at all and has had to do a TON of layoffs. The marina, well the boat people are pretty much staying really rich and we have a long wait list. Although I know that anything can happen at any time, I keep hearing about people that lose their job in what seems to be such bad timing and it just breaks my heart. It makes me just want to stop everything I am doing and bow down to my heavenly father to again thank him for the hundredth time for still having a job that is great, somewhat stressful but what job isn't?. I just hope that I can continue to be blessed with it, both Paul and I. Especially since Paul has chosen to pursue a career in such an expensive neighboorhood!:-)

Just because we started to do some research we found that that we qualify for a $300,000 home loan..sweet we have great credit but no way would I buy a house for that much, The mortage payment would be like $2200 a month which is way out of our reach right now. But we will just continue to live as righteously as we can and do the best we can and at the right time something will eventually will work out, but until then I have have a huge attitude of gratitude.

Post Christmas fun!

Paul really surprised me by getting me this notebook labtop for Christmas. Its absolutely perfect and I have been loving it. Its been so nice to have! :-)

Second, I have been loving this..Wii Sports Resort. SO MUCH FUN!! my favorite is the road bike racing...yes yes thats the main reason I wanted and for good reasoning..so now when I am not biking outside I can bike on the t.v...awww its great! :-) there are so many other fun games too!
We were playing the wakeboarding and Paul was making fun of me because I was really getting into it and moving my body up and down and swailing my arms up like crazy so of course he started to copy me which was making it worse.

We finished off the night by my making something I sort of made up but I am sure there are other recipes out there for it. I love Nutella..I love cookies so I put the two together. I made chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips and then when putting the dough on the cookie sheet made a little hole in the cookie and put a teaspoon of the Nutella and then covered it up with mroe dough...basacially Nutella lava cookies...um wow..words could not even explain how amazingly yummy these were. I shouldn't have made them because now its all I want to eat...

The sunset was killer the other night, I was running into Albertsons but so glad I had my camera on me so I could take a few pics. I am really like San Diego.

I still need my mommy!

I wish I could just go to my mom's and she could scratch my back and or braid/play with my hair. This week has been the pooper! Yes I know we all deal with it and it's life! ts just hard because Paul has been working shifts of 11 pm to 7 am, or 3 pm to 11 pm so I dont always have him to go to.

This work at week we really have had to tighten down on security as far at not let contractors work on people's boats if their insurance and business license are not up to date. We had an incident occur that kindly reminded us we need to stay on top of this policy. Anyways so This whole week I have been in the office by myself as my co-worker is on vacation, which leaves me by myself being a young girl that contractors think they can take advantage of in being a bully. Now I know jobs are not easy I am all about hard work but about day 3 of getting the same cussing, yelling, arguing I was quite done. I really wanted to tell them to just grow up..I mean its not rocket science here, in order to do work in the marina you have to have current insurance..duh! and no I am not gonna "work" with you and let you in. We have to protect our safety. On top of the non stop arguing other marina guests would come in with misc. things and I had new guests I needed to sign up and my desk really was just beginning to look like mount everest.

The event that took the cake yesterday was our horrible security at the hotel witnessed a hit and run in which the car that was hit belonged to one of our marina guests. Since the car that ran wasn't there anymore security was just telling me to not tell the marina guest...really? wow the extra mile award definitely goes to you. Then the trolley got canceled on my way home from work so I had to take like 10 different bus routes to get home an hour and a half later than I normally do. The bus also is so much more creepy than the trolley at night.

I had to make a really hard to decision this week on something that I think might have butchered a friendship even though it shouldn't have but in the end it came down to me having to trust a feeling (I think the spirit). But it was still extremely hard..I dont want to make big girl choices! :-) Last night Pauly was home so we went to Pei Wei and then played Wii!!

Today I am at work..I am not feeling very well but I am so excited because I have moved an extra mattress we have into the t.v. room and I am going to bust out the pink robe, grab some grilled cheese and tomato soup to go and maybe get a redbox! :-) Paul works 3-11 tonight and the housework is all done so I am going to have a me night!!

New Years and new traditions.

New Years Eve we went to B.J.'s their pizza with some friends. Then we went over to anothers friends house who was having a party. I will have to post pictures from the party later but it was so fun with lots of yummy treats!
So New Years day we slept in for awhile, then we decided to go to the beach, of course we got distracted at someones house that was having an estate sale...it turned out to be the best!
We bought this holy bible that is really old but big, the pages are so awesome and antique. It was only $1

For $10 total I got these two road bikes, yes I know they are old but I look forward to fixing them up and having fun with or doing something cool.
My last and favorite thing I bought which I can't find at the moment is the video I bought for .50 cents..line dancing for seniors! WOO WOO I am thinking that is going to be a great white elephant gift! ...finally off to the beach but for reals I love estate sales..and if you ever want to see Paul so excited...
A funny thing that happened..we walked away to see the sand castle that Paul was making and of course we didnt secure our chips well enough and sure enough the sea gulls got to them and went to town on them..but then it started getting intense. This one bully seagull that was huge was like pecking and biting the other sea gulls if they would even try to get close to the bag...it was so funny!

Paul made this sand castle...they man just has so many hidden talents.

It was definitely a great New Years day!

While at home in Utah I was looking through my scrapbook, I came across this picture. I am the girl in the swimsuit and leg warmers. I went through this ridiculous phase that I always had to be wearing my swimsuit no matter what. My parents had to settle with putting my church dress over it for church because I WOULD not take it off...nope not even winter time! I think I should start the phase again! :-)

Sunday is for relaxing!

Sunday was a good day, Paul's sister and brother and their spouses all live together in this nice big house they split. It really is cool but we slept over night there. Sunday we just relaxed...playing super mario bro's, eating nutella, eggnog, and other stuff that is not good for you! Later we had a last family dinner and then off to the airport to take Paul! :-( on the way home Paul's parents were nice enough to take me to temple square because I really wanted to see the lights!

It was an enjoyable evening. I love temple square, it really is like no other place. Also on Sunday we had fun making this elf video..click on the link below to watch if you want. its with paul and me and his parents!
